U.S.-Japan Southeast Asia Policy Dialogue

  1. On June 1, the U.S.-Japan Southeast Asia Policy Dialogue was held in a video teleconference format. Mr. KANO Takehiro, Director General, Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department and Mr. ISHIZUKI Hideo, Deputy Director-General, Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department, and Mr. Daniel Kritenbrink, Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Mr. Mark Lambert, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands, Dr. Jung Pak, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Multilateral Affairs and Global China issues attended from the United States of America.
  2. At this dialogue, the two sides exchanged views on the regional and international situation and related issues, as well as bilateral and regional cooperation with Southeast Asian countries, referring to recent Japanese and the U.S.’s diplomatic exchanges with Southeast Asian countries including high-level visits.
