New Measures for Border Enforcement
May 7, 2021
- For the time being, all the travelers who enter and return to Japan from India, Pakistan or Nepal will be requested to stay at specific facilities designated by the Chief of the Quarantine Station (limited to accommodation facilities designated by the Quarantine Station), and then required to take the COVID-19 tests on the third and sixth days. Those who have negative result in both tests leave the facility and are requested to self-quarantine at home during the remaining period of 14 days after entering Japan. The quarantine measures commence from 0:00 am (JST) on May 10, 2021.
- While the travel advice “Avoid All Travel” has already been issued for level 3 countries/regions with the travel advice and warning on infectious diseases, short-term visits to India, Pakistan or Nepal with the intention of re-entering or returning to Japan are strongly requested to be avoided.
