Courtesy Call on Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates

On August 30, commencing at 4:00 P.M. for around 20 minutes, Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates, who is visiting Japan. The outline of the meeting is as follows:
1. At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Kishida welcomed Minister Al Jaber's visit to Japan, along with saying that Japan is placing an emphasis on the diplomacy towards Middle East, and wants to strengthen the "Comprehensive Partnership towards Stability and Prosperity" with the United Arab Emirates. Minister Kishida also expressed expectations that bilateral cooperation will advance further in the field of renewable energy that Minister Al Jaber is working to promote.
2. Minister Al Jaber said that bilateral relations between Japan and the United Arab Emirates are excellent, and based on a solid foundation, and that he hopes to develop further cooperation in various fields, including renewable energy. Minister Al Jaber highly appreciated Japan's initiatives toward peace and stability in the Middle East region.
3. The two ministers also exchanged views on cooperation in the international arena.
