Policy Dialogue on Climate Change in Asian Countries

1. From August 27 to 29, a Policy Dialogue on Climate Change in Asian Countries will be held in Tokyo. The climate change negotiators and other officials of 15 countries in the Asia region are scheduled to attend the Dialogue.

2. At the Dialogue, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as well as the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of the Environment will explain for developing countries Japan’s climate change measures and support. An exchange of views on climate change negotiations is also scheduled to be held, toward the 19th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 19).

3. Additionally, on this occasion the participants from the Asian countries are scheduled to visit a smart building, a high-efficiency coal thermal power plant and other facilities that utilize Japan’s latest environmental technologies.
