Detention of Personnel of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in the Golan Heights

1. It is very regrettable that more than 20 personnel of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) were detained by an armed group in the area of limitation of the Golan Heights on March 6. The Government of Japan strongly condemns such an act.
2. The Government of Japan has supported the United Nations’ activities for peace and stability in the Middle East and strongly demands the immediate release of the detained UNDOF personnel and safe activities by all the UNDOF personnel.
