Visit of HE Mr. Gurbanguly BERDIMUHAMEDOV, President of Turkmenistan, to Japan
Deputy Press Secretary Mr. Koichi Mizushima : His Excellency Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan is visiting Japan as an Official Working Visit from September 11th to 13th.
Prime Minister Abe held a meeting and hosted a dinner with the President Berdimuhamedov yesterday. Prime Minister Abe and President Berdimuhamedov discussed further deepening and broadening bilateral relations including cooperation in the economic field, cooperation toward stability of the Central Asian region, and further strengthening cooperation between two countries through the framework of “Central Asia plus Japan” dialogue. After the meeting, six documents were signed including Joint Statement between Japan and Turkmenistan on the New Partnership.
Today, the President Berdimuhamedov made a State Call on His Majesty the Emperor of Japan, and His Majesty the Emperor hosted a Court Luncheon in honor of the President.
The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the President, which will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and Turkmenistan.
Visit of HE Mr. Norov ALTANKHUYAG, Prime Minister of Mongolia, to Japan
Mr. Mizushima : His Excellency Mr. Norov ALTANKHUYAG, Prime Minister of Mongolia, and Mrs. Khonichin SELENGE are visiting Japan as an Official Working Visit from September 11th to 14th. The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the Prime Minister and expects that the friendly relations between two countries will be further strengthened by his visit.
During his stay in Japan, the Prime Minister and Mrs. Selenge will be received in audience by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan. Prime Minister Abe will also hold a meeting and host a dinner with the Prime Minister Altankhuyag.
Japan has consistently supported Mongolia’s efforts in democratization and transition to market economy since its democratization in 1990. This visit of Prime Minister Altankhuyag has significance as a follow-up of Prime Minister Abe’s visit to Mongolia in March this year, and it is expected to elevate the Strategic Partnership which is our shared diplomatic goal to even higher levels so that our mutually beneficial and complementary relationship will be further strengthened.
3. Visit of HE Mr. Pham Binh Minh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Japan
Mr. Mizushima : His Excellency Mr. Pham Binh MINH, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam is visiting Japan as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, from September 12th to 14th.
During his visit, Foreign Minister Kishida will co-chair with Foreign Minister Minh the 5th Japan-Vietnam Cooperation Committee and will host a working dinner today.
This year marks 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Viet Nam. It is expected that the visit of Foreign Minister MINH will further deepen already broad cooperation between two countries.
