From July 21 to 22, Mr. HORII Iwao, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, visited Busan, Republic of Korea, to attend the 48th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

State Minister Horii held meetings with representatives from a total of 16 Committee member states, made last-minute appeals for the inscription of “Ancient Capitals of Asuka and Fujiwara”, Japan's nominee scheduled for review at this session, on the World Heritage List, and exchanged views on cooperation within UNESCO and other related matters.
