H.E. Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, the President of the Republic of Kenya and H.E. Ambassador Toshitsugu Uesawa are shaking hands in front of the commemorable monument to celebrate completion of phase 1 and commencement of phase 2 of the Nairobi -Dagoretti Corner Road C60/C61 which is locally known as "Ngong Road". The Ngong Road is used by commuters heavily at a rate of exceeding its capacity, as it runs through Nairobi city which is experiencing unabated population growth. Through this grant aid project, Japan aims not only to improve the transport system, but also the quality of life of the people of Kenya in general by alleviating traffic congestion which will reduce travel time, financial burden on residents, emission of gasses and noise.
