"More than 10,000 people living here will become healthier thanks to the project," said a community leader with a big smile. "People used to fetch water from the polluted waterways, which increased their risk of contracting waterborne diseases." The Government of Japan in collaboration with MLFM, an Italian NGO, supported the construction of 20 water supply facilities and systems in Muhanga District, Rwanda.
