Japan's ODA Activities in Disaster Reduction and Response
During the first five years of the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction, Japan's assistance in the field of disaster reduction and response to the entire world reached 327 billion yen (part under jurisdiction of Foreign Ministry). Of this, loan assistance accounted for the largest amount of 238 billion yen, followed by grant aid of 60 billion yen and technical cooperation of 29 billion yen.
