Third Round of High Level Dialogue between Japan and Republic of Korea on Climate Change

The third round of High Level Dialogue between Japan and Republic of Korea on Climate Change was held in Seoul on February 23rd, 2010. The Japanese delegation was headed by Mr. Shinsuke J. SUGIYAMA, Ambassador, Director-General for Global Issues, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Korean delegation was headed by H.E. Mr. Rae-Kwon CHUNG, Ambassador for Climate Change, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

This meeting was held amidst the time when perspectives for future negotiations on climate change were being discussed internationally. In the meeting, both sides had extensive and open exchange of views, based upon the mutual trust between two countries, on the future negotiations on climate change and the possible views of cooperation between two countries in this respect.

It was reaffirmed through the course of discussion that the solid foundation for cooperation on climate change was being formulated between Japan and Korea, and two countries shared the willingness of continuing the dialogue between Japan and Korea through various occasions.
