Second Round of High Level Dialogue between Japan and the Republic of Korea on Climate Change

The second round of High Level Dialogue between Japan and the Republic of Korea on Climate Change was held in Tokyo (at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan) on January 22nd, 2010. The Japanese delegation was headed by Mr. Shinsuke J. SUGIYAMA, Ambassador, Director-General for Global Issues, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Korean delegation was headed by H.E. Mr. Rae-Kwon CHUNG, Ambassador for Climate Change, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
With the outcome of the fifteenth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Copenhagen last December, the two sides had extensive and open exchange of views regarding the future negotiations and the possible cooperation between two countries.
The two sides reaffirmed the importance of cooperation between two countries on the wide range of global issues including climate change and shared the view that they would continue such consultations in-future.
