The 2nd Tripartite Policy Dialogue among Japan, People's Republic of China, and Republic of Korea on Climate Change
and the 5th Japan-People's Republic of China Climate Change Dialogue

The 2nd Tripartite Policy Dialogue among Japan, People's Republic of China, and Republic of Korea and the 5th Japan-People's Republic of China Climate Change Dialogue were held in Tokyo on 13 February 2009.
The Japanese delegation was headed by Dr. Makio Miyagawa, Deputy Director-General for Global Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the participants from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Ministry of the Environment. The Chinese delegation was headed by Mr. Wei Su, Director General of National Development and Reform Commission. The Korean delegation was headed by H.E. Mr. Rae-Kwon Chung, Ambassador for Climate Change of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
In the 2nd Tripartite Policy Dialogue, the three countries exchanged information and views on the domestic and international initiatives on climate change taken by each country, and had extensive and open exchange of views regarding the post-2012 framework. Active exchange of views on the next framework and roles of the two countries in the next framework was conducted in the Japan-China dialogue as well.
Through these dialogues, it was reaffirmed that these dialogues should continue in the future and the cooperation on climate change should be further strengthened.
