Cambodia	Capacity Building Project for the Forestry Sector	2001-2004	The capacity of the identified target groups, with the DFW Staff as the principal target group, will be upgraded in planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation for laws, legislation, policy, plans and projects in the priority areas of forestry sector.
China	Research Project on Timber from Man-made Forests	2000-2005	To conduct basic research on the characteristics and chemical/physical treatment of timber produced from planted forests.
	Model Afforestation Project in Sichuan	2000-2005	To establish a basis for self-sustained afforestation activities in Xichang city, Xide county and Zhaojue county in Anning River basin.
	Japan-China Cooperation Science and Technology Center for Forest Tree Improvement Project	2001-2006	To breed new tree varieties and develop technology in preserving tree genetic resources, and to disseminate those to southern regions of China.
Indonesia	Forest Fire Prevention Management Project (Phase II)	2001-2006	To carry out forest fire prevention and initial suppression activities to protect national parks.
	Mangrove Information Center Project	2001-2004	To institutionally strengthen The Mangrove Information Center in terms of ability to conduct training on sustainable mangrove management.
	Demonstration Project for Carbon Fixing Forest Management	2001-2006	To develop methodology for quantitative assessment of carbon sequestration by planted forests, and to develop plantation technologies for enhancing and maintaining carbon-fixing function of forests.
Myanmar	Community Forestry Training and Extension Project in Dry Zone	2001-2006	To improve capacity of Forest Department extension staff and to disseminate community forestry system, for the promotion of participatory forest management in Dry zone.
Myanmar	Study on Integrated Mangrove Management through Community Participation in the Ayeyawady Delta	2001-2004	To formulate integrated management plans of five selected protected forest areas in Ayeyawady Delta for restoration and sustainable use of mangrove ecosystems.
Philippines	Master Plan Study for Watershed Management in Upper Magat and Cagayan River Basin	2000-2003	To formulate watershed management master-plan for approx. 1 million hectare watershed areas in the upstream of Magat and Cagayan rivers, which show priority areas for forest restoration based on survey of natural and socio-economic conditions as well as the capacity of local institutions.
Thailand	Reforestation and Extension Project in the Northeast of Thailand (Phase II)	1999-2004	To establish a system for the extension/improvement of the sustainable forest management techniques in small-scale plantation in the project area.
Vietnam	Rehabilitation of Natural Forest in Degraded Watershed Area in the North of Vietnam	2003-2008	To develop sets of technically appropriate and economically affordable measures for natural forest rehabilitation to be used by forest enterprises, watershed management boards, and extension workers.
