“G7 Hiroshima Summit” Logo Usage Guideline

Please note that the copyright of the G7 Hiroshima Summit logo belongs to the government of Japan. All applicants must obtain approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in order to use the logo in public. The following criteria (Terms of Use) must be satisfied when the logo is used in any format. The application procedure is described following the Terms of Use below.
1 Terms of Use
- (1) Applicants wanting to use the logo must have intentions to cooperate in promoting and advertising the G7 Hiroshima Summit.
- (2) The purpose of using the logo should be in line with the objectives of the G7 Hiroshima Summit.
- (3) Disgracing or hindering the correct understanding of the G7 Hiroshima Summit through use of the logo is prohibited.
- (4) Guidelines for size, composition, layout and color of the official logo
- (a) The layout of the title or the letters on the logo must not be changed.
- (b) The colors must not be changed.
- (c) The logo design must not be separated into parts.
- (d) No additional figures or characters (letters) may touch or overlap the official logo design.
- (e) The specified white margin must be maintained around the official logo. Any other figures or characters must not overlap or intrude on the original design in any way. (See the Illustrated Usage Guide (PDF)

- (5) Using the logo for political, ideological or religious activities is prohibited.
- (6) The Secretariat for the G7 Hiroshima Summit reserves the right to inspect the condition and results of logo usage.
- (7) The logo must not be used in violation of law or in contradiction to the public order and morals.
- (8) The logo must not be used to guarantee the safety or quality of a specific product.
2 How to apply
Please complete the attached application form (Word) and send it to the Secretariat for the G7 Hiroshima Summit by email (g7.logo@mofa.go.jp ). The application should be sent to the Secretariat at least three weeks in advance of the planned usage. The Secretariat will inform the applicant of the result after evaluation of the application.
3 Notes
- (1) Documents submitted with application will not be returned.
- (2) All responsibilities for logo usage as well as for the product with the logo attached belong to the applicant.
- (3) If the purpose of the logo usage changes at any time after the application is submitted, please inform to the Secretariat for the G7 Hiroshima Summit immediately.
- (4) If the G7 Hiroshima Summit logo is used in a manner that does not comply with the Logo Usage Guideline, if false information is found on the application form, or if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan discovers problems regarding the usage of the logo, the terms of use approved may be modified, the approval of use revoked, and/or the objects in question requested to be withdrawn.
- (5) Please strictly follow the rules set in the Logo Usage Guideline in using the logo. You may not use a part of the logo alone, change the original design, or change the colors in the logo. In addition, the margin of the logo should be kept as defined in the guideline. (See Isolation Rules in the Illustrated Usage Guide).
- (6) The expiry date for G7 Hiroshima Summit logo usage is December 31, 2023, which is the termination date of Japan’s presidency for G7 Hiroshima Summit.
