With the objectives of making a contribution to the worldwide advancement of science and technology and creating a leading intellectual hub in the Asia-Pacific Region, Okinawa Prefecture is promoting the establishment of the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology. A present, preparations are well underway for opening this institute and pursuing the goal of developing a highly original, international-oriented, and "best-in-the-world" graduate university in the natural science field.
