Chiba Prefecture is actively committed to the prevention of global warming and maintenance of biodiversity, joining hands with every relevant player, such as its citizenry, non-government organizations (NGOs) and companies. Its commitments include not only efforts to cut the emissions of global warming gasses, but also plans to create "Chiba Prefecture's Strategies for Biodiversity" by March 2008, when Chiba hosts meetings for the G20 Ministerial Dialogue. To this end, proposals for the strategies were given in October 2007 by an expert committee for biodiversity and a voluntarily organized assembly of the prefecture's citizens, respectively.
Chiba Prefecture will take the opportunity of hosting the G20 Dialogue to promote commemorative events and present, both in the country and abroad, activities by its citizens and the charm of the prefecture.
