Step1
Establish the Tariff Classification of the product
- You must establish the correct tariff classification (Tariff Item Number, HS based) of your product intended for export to Japan.
Step2
Check the Product Coverage
- You must ascertain whether your product is eligible for preference under Japan's GSP scheme.
- To do this you must examine the product lists of the GSP scheme in relation to the precise tariff classification and product description of your product.

Step3
Assess the Preferential Margin
- If your product is eligible for preferential treatment under Japan's GSP scheme, you should assess the preferential margin to determine the price you can offer your buyer/importer.

Prepare Documentary Evidence
