The Assistance by the Government of Japan to the damage caused by an earthquake in Taiwan

In the light of the request for assistance from the Taiwanese side, the Japanese Government is preparing to provide tents and generators. The handing-over ceremony is scheduled to take place in Taipei on 25 September (Saturday), at which Mr. Yamashita, Resident Representative of Taipei Office of Interchange Association is to hand over the catalog of the above assistance to Mr. Lin Jinjing, President of Association of East Asia Relations.

In addition, the Government of Japan shall dispatch an expect team who specialise in the assessment of earthquake-resident buildings. On 27 September (Monday), the Government shall dispatch the above unit of Japan Disaster Relief Team comprised of six member (3 from Ministry of Construction, 1 from National Land Agency, and 2 from Japan International Cooperation Agency) to Taiwan.
The Government of Japan is currently preparing for further dispatchment experts.
