President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay to Visit Japan

H.E. Mr. Luis LACALLE POU, President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, will pay an Official Working Visit to Japan from October 27 to 29.
- During his stay in Japan, President Lacalle Pou will make a State Call on His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, will also hold a meeting and host a working lunch with the President.
- Japan and Uruguay are important partners which share fundamental values, and last year marked the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. On the occasion of his visit to Japan, President Lacalle Pou is expected to exchange views on how to further strengthen bilateral relations with a view to the next hundred years, and on measures to address various international issues, including the situation in Ukraine.
- It is expected that this visit will further deepen the traditional friendship between Japan and Uruguay.
