Foreign Minister Hayashi’s Visit to the Japan Cultural Institute in Paris (The Japan Foundation)


On the afternoon of June 22 (local time), Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, visited the Japan Cultural Institute in Paris(The Japan Foundation), during his visit to Paris, France, to attend the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact.
Minister Hayashi was guided by Mr. SUZUKI Hitoshi, President of the Japan Cultural Institute in Paris, to see the hall, library, tea ceremony room and other facilities of the Institute, as well as the photography exhibition; "Ken Domon - The Master of Japanese Realism" which features approximately 100 works by the Japanese master of photography, Mr.DOMON Ken, on display for the first time in France, and Mr. SUZUKI explained about the activities of the Institute.
The Japan Cultural Institute in Paris opened in 1997 as one of the overseas establishments of the Japan Foundation. It is an establishment of the Japan Foundation jointly operated by the public and private sectors with project support funds and human resources from private support organizations, namely, "Amicale au Japon pour la Maison de la culture du Japon à Paris" (Nihon Tomo no Kai) and "Association pour la Maison de la culture du Japon à Paris" (Shien Kyoukai).
