On May 13, commencing at 2:45 p.m., for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. OZAKI Masanao, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from the Honorable Mark Gordon, Governor of the State of Wyoming, and the Honorable Michelle Lujan=Grisham, Governor of the State of New Mexico, during their visit to Japan. 

  1. Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary OZAKI welcomed their visit to Japan for the second consecutive year. He also requested continued support for the activities of Japanese companies in both states. Moreover, both sides shared the view to cooperate in strengthening economic relations in various fields, including energy such as oil and natural gas, and cutting-edge technologies such as quantum computing.
  2. Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary OZAKI expressed his expectations for further development in the economic relations between Japan and Wyoming, as well as Japan and New Mexico. He also referred to the importance of grassroot-level exchanges, which underpin the Japan-U.S. alliance, and expressed his hope to see Japanese cultural events and sister city affiliations in both states will be further invigorated.
