On January 8, Ms. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, received a courtesy call by representatives of the Japan-U.S. Business Council. The overview is as follows:

  1. Mr. SAWADA Jun, Advisor to the Japan-U.S. Business Council, handed over to Prime Minister TAKAICHI the Joint Statement issued at the 62nd U.S.-Japan Business Conference held in Tokyo in October last year, and explained about the discussion at the Conference.
  2. In response, Prime Minister TAKAICHI expressed her respect for the role played by the Japan-U.S. Business Council toward strengthening the Japan-U.S. economic relations. She also stated that the proposals in the Joint Statement were seriously taken by the government, and that she would like to continue close communication with business persons for further promoting the Japan-U.S. economic relations.
