Courtesy Call on Chief Cabinet Secretary KIHARA by Mr. Goldy Hyder, President and CEO, Business Council of Canada

On June 23, commencing at 2:10 p.m., for approximately 15 minutes, Mr. KIHARA Minoru, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, received a courtesy call from Mr. Goldy Hyder, President and CEO of the Business Council of Canada (BCC).
- At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary KIHARA welcomed the BCC delegation, noting that Canada is a G7 colleague and a like‑minded partner in the Indo‑Pacific region, and expressed his intention to further strengthen economic cooperation, particularly in such areas as energy, critical minerals, and advanced technologies, including AI and quantum technologies.
- Mr. Hyder presented to Chief Cabinet Secretary KIHARA the Joint Policy Statement on Canada-Japan Economic Relationship prepared with Keidanren, and stated that the BCC, together with Keidanren, will continue efforts to strengthen Japan‑Canada economic relations and to promote close cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.
- The two sides exchanged views on the prospects for Japan‑Canada economic relations and on promoting business‑to‑business exchanges.
