On March 10, commencing at 5:15 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. KIHARA Minoru, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, received a courtesy call from Ms. Audrey Yamamoto, President & CEO of the US-Japan Council, and nine Japanese American leaders who were invited to Japan by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview is as follows.

  1. Chief Cabinet Secretary KIHARA welcomed their visit to Japan and stated that the trust and respect that Japanese Americans have earned with their great effort in the U.S. are the foundation of today’s strong Japan-U.S. relationship. He also stated that the Government of Japan intends to enhance its relationship with Japanese Americans to further strengthen the relationship of trust between Japan and the U.S.
  2. The delegation expressed their deep appreciation for the invitation to Japan and stated that they would work together with the Government of Japan to further enhance Japan’s presence in the United States.
