On November 25, commencing at 10:00 a.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Ms. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, held a Japan-U.S. Summit Telephone Talk, with the Honorable Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America. The overview is as follows;

  1. Prime Minister TAKAICHI expressed her gratitude to President Trump for the gift of his hand-written message on a newspaper reporting on his recent visit to Japan. Prime Minister TAKAICHI also conveyed her appreciation for the United States’ efforts toward peace in Ukraine.
  2. The two leaders also exchanged views on strengthening the Japan-U.S. Alliance and the situation and various challenges facing the Indo-Pacific region. President Trump made an explanation on the latest situation of U.S.-China relations including the recent U.S.-China summit meeting. In response to President Trump’s question, Prime Minister TAKAICHI explained about the recent G20 summit.
  3. The two leaders affirmed that the two countries will continue working closely under the current international situation. President Trump told Prime Minister TAKAICHI that, as close friend of him, he would be willing to receive calls from the Prime Minister any time.
