On November 5, Foreign Minister MOTEGI Toshimitsu issued the following message of condolence on the passing of Mr. Richard B. Cheney, former Vice President of the United States of America.
I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to his family on the passing of Mr. Richard B. Cheney, former Vice President of the United States of America.
Mr. Cheney served in key positions such as Secretary of Defense and Vice President, and in the midst of rapidly changing international circumstances, he promoted the cooperative relationship between Japan and the United States in the international community, and contributed to building the robust Japan-U.S. Alliance of today. I would like to express my respect for his distinguished contributions in his lifetime and extend my sincere condolences on his passing.
