On May 22, commencing at 11:50 a.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from a group of 47 students from Harvard Kennedy School. The courtesy call took place in a cordial atmosphere. The overview is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed the group to Japan, and introduced his own experiences of studying at the Harvard Kennedy School.
  2. After a representative of the group shared their impressions of the visit to Japan and expressed gratitude, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi, in response to requests from the students, offered advice for their future based on his experiences in the United States. He also responded to questions from the students regarding Japan’s role in the current international situation and efforts to strengthen Japan-U.S. security cooperation and economic relations.
