Courtesy Call on Prime Minister ISHIBA Shigeru by Governor Gordon of the State of Wyoming and Governor Grisham of the State of New Mexico, United States of America

On April 24th, commencing at 9:30 a.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan received a courtesy call from the Honorable Mark Gordon, Governor of the State of Wyoming, the United States and the Honorable Michelle Lujan Grisham, Governor of the State of New Mexico, the United States during their visit to Japan. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Prime Minister Ishiba welcomed Governor Gordon and Governor Grisham and asked for their cooperation in strengthening the relationship between Japan and Wyoming as well as Japan and New Mexico, which supports the strong Japan-U.S. alliance. In response, Governor Gordon and Governor Grisham expressed their intention to continue strengthening cooperation with Japan.
- Prime Minister Ishiba expressed his expectations for further development in the economic relations between Japan and Wyoming, as well as Japan and New Mexico, highlighting the contributions of Japanese companies' investments in both States, and explained the views of Japan on the current situations surrounding the additional tariffs. In response, Governor Gordon and Governor Grisham stated that they would like to collaborate together to strengthen the economic relations between Japan and the United States, as well as between Japan and their respective State.
