On March 17, 2025, commencing at 11:50 am, for approximately 20 miniutes, Mr. Hayashi Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from the Hon. John Peter Ricketts, United States Senate.
The overview of the courtesy call is as follows.
- At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed Senator Ricketts on his visit to Japan, and expressed his intention to advance cooperation with the United States to strengthen the Japan-U.S. Alliance and materialize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) based on the rule of law.
- Both sides also exchanged views on initiatives to further strengthen Japan-U.S. relations, as well as on global issues, including the situation in the Indo-Pacific region.
