On March 7, commencing at 10:25 a.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from a group of the Japanese American Leadership Delegation (JALD) and the US-Japan Council including Ms. Audrey Yamamoto, President & CEO. The delegation of 10 Japanese American leaders who play leading roles in various parts of the U.S. was invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview is as follows.

  1. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed their visit to Japan and stated that the trust and respect that Japanese Americans have earned with their great effort in the U.S. are the foundation of today’s strong Japan-U.S. relationship. He also stated that the Government of Japan intends to enhance its relationship with Japanese Americans to further strengthen the relationship of trust between Japan and the U.S..
  2. The delegation expressed their deep appreciation for the invitation to Japan, and their intention to make every effort towards building a more vibrant Japanese American communities.
