On September 2, commencing at 11:40 a.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy by the Hon. Robert Wilkie, Distinguished Fellow, America First Policy Institute, during his visit to Japan. The summary of the courtesy call is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed the Hon. Wilkie and stated that the United States and Japan are global partners, bound by deep trust and a multilayered friendship, working together to address the problems of the international community. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi also said that he had been looking forward to exchanging views with the Hon. Wilkie.
  2. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi and the Hon. Wilkie discussed the importance of the Japan-U.S. alliance and confirmed their intention to work to further strengthen the relationship between Japan and the U.S..
