Japan-U.S. Summit Telephone Talk

On May 29, commencing at 10:00 p.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan, held a summit telephone talk with the Honorable Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America. The overview of the talk is as follows.
- Following their telephone talk on May 23, the two leaders exchanged views on ways to further advance Japan-U.S. cooperation in a wide range of fields, encompassing foreign affairs, security and the economy.
- The two leaders also exchanged views on Japan-U.S. Consultations on the U.S. Tariff Measures. During that discussion, Prime Minister Ishiba conveyed Japan's views on the U.S. tariff measures. The two leaders concurred to have the ministers in charge further deepen their discussions on the issue.
