On February 13th, commencing at 4:00 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, seven family members of former Prisoners of War (POWs), paid a courtesy call on Mr. YAMADA Kenji, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, during their visit to Japan at the invitation of the Japanese/POW Friendship Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview of the meeting was as follows.

  1. State Minister YAMADA welcomed the delegation and stated that he hopes this program will help to facilitate “the reconciliation of minds”.
  2. In response, families of former-POWs expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to visit Japan, and after many years, they were able to form friendships with Japanese people.
  3. The courtesy call took place in a friendly atmosphere.
