Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs YAMADA Kenji by Families of Former-POWs from the United States

On February 13th, commencing at 4:00 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, seven family members of former Prisoners of War (POWs), paid a courtesy call on Mr. YAMADA Kenji, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, during their visit to Japan at the invitation of the Japanese/POW Friendship Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview of the meeting was as follows.
- State Minister YAMADA welcomed the delegation and stated that he hopes this program will help to facilitate “the reconciliation of minds”.
- In response, families of former-POWs expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to visit Japan, and after many years, they were able to form friendships with Japanese people.
- The courtesy call took place in a friendly atmosphere.
