Courtesy Call on Prime Minister Fumio Kishida by a Delegation Led by Governor Ige of the State of Hawaii, the U.S.

On May 9, from 10:25 a.m. for 15 minutes, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida received a courtesy call from visiting Governor Ige of the State of Hawaii and Speaker Saiki of the Hawaii State House of Representatives. The summary of the call is as follows.
- Prime Minister Kishida welcomed the visit of Governor Ige and Speaker Saiki to Japan and stated that the solid ties between Japan and Hawaii support the Japan-U.S. relationship and that he hopes that the Governor and Speaker will continue to serve as a bridge between the two countries.
- In response to Prime Minister Kishida's request for the Governor and Speaker to offer their continued understanding and cooperation regarding Japan-U.S. relations, the Governor and Speaker stated that they hope to work closely with the Government of Japan.
- Governor Ige expressed his hope for closer relations between Japan and Hawaii in various aspects, especially in increasing the number of Japanese tourists to Hawaii.
- In addition, in a friendly atmosphere, both sides exchanged views on exchanges between Japan and Hawaii, including those in tourism and economic fields.
