On September 2nd, commencing at 11:30 a.m. for approximately 30 minutes, family members of former Prisoners of War (POWs), 8 people in total, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Kiyoto Tsuji, Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, during their visit to Japan at the invitation of the Japanese/POW Friendship Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview is as follows.

  1. Parliamentary Vice Minister Tsuji welcomed the delegation and stated that he hopes they will experience and enjoy various aspects of Japan.
  2. In response, families of former-POWs expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to visit Japan, and after many years, they were able to form friendships with Japanese people.
  3. The courtesy call took place in a friendly atmosphere.
