Prime Minister Abe Held Informal Talks with the President of the United States

On November 20, commencing at around 1:05 p.m. (3:05 a.m., November 21, Japan time) for a short time, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, who was visiting Lima, Peru, to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting, held informal talks with the Honorable Barack H. Obama, President of the United States of America. The overview of the talks is as follows.
- The two leaders highly appreciated each other their mutual strong leadership over the last four years in working on strengthening their alliance for the peace and prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region.
- In addition, the two leaders shared the recognition that Japan and the United States must continue to work together hand-in-hand in order to deal with the current international situation.
