On July 9, commencing at 10:05 a.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from the Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, during her visit to Japan. The overview is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi gave a welcoming word to Foreign Minister Anand for her visit to Japan and expressed his delight for the steady progress of Japan-Canada cooperation under the “Japan-Canada Action Plan for contributing to a free and open Indo-Pacific region,” including the signing of the Agreement on the Security of Information.
  2. The two sides welcomed the advancement of Japan-Canada cooperation across a wide range of areas and reaffirmed the importance of further deepening bilateral relations across various fields.
