On July 22, commencing at 2:00 p.m. for approximately 45 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada during her visit to Japan. The overview is as follows.

At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi gave a welcoming word to Foreign Minister Joly for her visit to Japan. The two sides welcomed steady progress of Japan-Canada cooperation in broad areas including the cooperation in Indo-Pacific region, and confirmed the importance of enhancing bilateral relations across various areas.
