Spouses of leaders of the invited countries visiting at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims
  1. On May 21, Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo, the First Lady of the Republic of Indonesia; Mrs. AZARI Ambari, the First Lady of the Union of the Comoros; Mrs. KIM Keon Hee, the First Lady of the Republic of Korea, and Mrs. Janja Lula da Silva, the Spouse of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, invited to the G7 Hiroshima Summit, visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum located in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture with Mrs. KISHIDA Yuko, the Spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan, and laid flowers at the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims. They also exchanged words with Ms. OGURA Keiko, hibakusha (an atomic bombing survivor) and Mr. SASAKI Yuji (a nephew of Ms, Sasaki Sadako, known for “Sadako’s Cranes” ).
  2. At the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, spouses of leaders of the invited countries signed the guest book titled “Commemorating the visit to the Peace Memorial Park by the spouses of the leaders of the invited countries and international organizations on the occasion of the G7 Hiroshima Summit” with Mrs. Kishida at the end of the visit.
  3. Mrs. Kishida and spouses of leaders of the invited countries were then escorted to the Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims by Mr. YUZAKI Hidehiko, Governor of Hiroshima Prefecture, and Mr. MATSUI Kazumi, Mayor of the City of Hiroshima. They laid a wreath at the Cenotaph with the support of elementary school students in Hiroshima.
