Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ONISHI Yohei by H.E. Mr. Adel Ali Ahmed ALSUNAINI, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Japan

On December 16, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ONISHI Yohei received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Adel Ali Ahmed ALSUNAINI, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Onishi stated that Japan, in coordination with the United Nations and relevant countries, will continue to support dialogues among Yemenis and subsequent efforts to build a new nation. He also stressed the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation and the safety of maritime traffic in the Red Sea, and expressed Japan’s intention to take necessary measures toward this end.
- In response, Ambassador Alsunaini offered his congratulations on Parliamentary Vice-Minister Onishi’s appointment and expressed his appreciation for Japan’s assistance to Yemen. He added that he wishes to further strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and Yemen with a view to advancing bilateral relations.
- The two sides confirmed that they will continue to develop the friendly relations between the two countries, and exchanged views on the situation in Yemen as well as developments surrounding the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
