Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs ONISHI’s Attendance at the National Day Reception of the State of Qatar

On December 9, Mr. ONISHI Yohei, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended the National Day Reception of the State of Qatar hosted by the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Tokyo and delivered his remarks on behalf of the Government of Japan. The overview is as follows:
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI delivered his remarks following the opening remarks by H.E. Mr. Jaber Jaralla M.A. AL-MARRI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Japan.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI extended his heartfelt congratulations on the National Day of Qatar. He also expressed Japan’s gratitude for Qatar’s contributions to the success of EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, while touching upon the strong friendly relations between Japan and Qatar, founded on the stable supply of LNG.
- Furthermore, Parliamentary Vice-Minister ONISHI stated that he is confident that bilateral relations will be further strengthened in a wide range of fields, including infrastructure development, education, and cultural exchange, under the "Strategic Partnership". He also highly evaluated Qatar’s diplomatic efforts toward peace and stability in the Middle East region and stated Japan’s intention to work closely with Qatar.
