His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait will visit Japan from 28 May to 31 May to strengthen Japan-Kuwait friendship and to attend Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

  1. During his stay in Japan, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah will make a State Call on his Majesty the Emperor of Japan. His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Akishino will have an imperial audience with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
  2. Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan, if circumstances permit, will hold a meeting and a working lunch with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
  3. The Government of Japan hopes that this visit will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and the State of Kuwait.

This is the first visit to Japan by His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, since his inauguration as Crown Prince in June 2024. His Highness accompanied His Highness Sheikh Sabah Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, then-Amir of the State of Kuwait, on the state visit to Japan in March 2012, as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait.
