Japan-Kuwait Relations
Attendance of State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU at the reception on the occasion of the 65th Anniversary of the National Day and the 35th Anniversary of the Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait

On February 12, on behalf of the Government of Japan, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended the reception on the occasion of the 65th Anniversary of the National Day and the 35th Anniversary of the Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait, hosted by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Tokyo.
- At the outset, His Excellency Mr. Sami Ghassab Muhammad Al-Zamanan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait to Japan, delivered the opening speech. He referred to the historic friendly relations between Japan and Kuwait and expressed his desire to further develop bilateral relations in the future.
- State Minister KUNIMITSU congratulated the National Day and the Liberation Day, and touched upon the fact that Japan-Kuwait bilateral relations were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the visit to Japan by His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, in May 2025. She then introduced the progress in the bilateral cooperation across various fields since last year, under this newly upgraded partnership, and stated that Japan will continue to further strengthen the relationship with Kuwait, both bilaterally and in the international arena.
