The 7th Japan-Bahrain Foreign Ministries’ Policy Consultations

- On April 21, the 7th Japan-Bahrain Foreign Ministries’ Policy Consultations were held in Manama.
- The consultations were attended by Mr. ANDO Toshihide, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Director-General of the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, and other officials from the Japanese side, and H.E. Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations, and other officials from the Bahraini side.
- During the consultations, both sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas including trade and investment, maritime security, environment, science and technology including space, and culture, as well as cooperation in the international arena.
- The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, including Gaza, and the situation in East Asia. They reaffirmed the importance of strengthening the international order based on the rule of law and confirmed their commitment to further enhancing coordination toward regional and international stability.
