  1. From May 15 to 17, Special Envoy of the Prime Minister Mr. AMARI Akira visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to offer our condolences following the passing of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the former President of the UAE.
  2. On 16 May, Special Envoy Amari paid a condolence call on behalf of the Government and the people of Japan, and extended our condolences to H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and dignitaries in the UAE. In response, President H.H. Sheikh Mohamed expressed his gratitude to Special Envoy Amari for his words of condolence, and stated that he will make his utmost efforts to strengthen the special relationship between Japan and the UAE.
