On January 16, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting Ankara, the capital of the Republic of Türkiye, participated in the luncheon meeting with Japanese business representatives in Türkiye. The overview of the meeting is as follows.

Minister Kamikawa stated that she was pleased to exchange views with Japanese business representatives who work actively in Türkiye on the occasion of her visit to Türkiye, and expressed her hope to further strengthen the economic relations between Japan and Türkiye in the future, building upon this opportunity of exchange of views.

The Japanese business representatives expressed their desire for the early conclusion of the negotiations on the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Japan and Türkiye. Alongside the issue on the EPA, Minister Kamikawa exchanged views with them on a wide range of areas, such as the business environment of Japanese companies in Türkiye and future challenges for further strengthening bilateral economic relations.
