On March 22, Mr. YAMADA Kenji, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended a luncheon hosted by Mr. Korkut GÜNGEN, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Japan. The outline is as follows.

  1. State Minister Yamada expressed his heartfelt condolences to the victims of the earthquake that hit Türkiye last month, and stated that the Japanese government and people stand with the Turkish government and its people and will continue to stand by the affected people and provide seamless assistance.
  2. Ambassador Güngen expressed his deep gratitude to the government of Japan for its assistance so far, as well as for State Minister Yamada’s recent visit to the affected areas.
  3. State Minister Yamada and Ambassador Güngen exchanged views on the current situation of the affected residents and efforts towards future recovery and reconstruction, including in the field of disaster prevention.
