Japan-Jordan Relations

On May 9, commencing at 11:20 a.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The overview is as follows.

  1. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Safadi’s visit to Japan. He then stated that Japan is committed to continuing its efforts toward a two-state solution and establishing peace and prosperity in the region in coordination with Jordan, which is a lynchpin for the stability of the region.
  2. Deputy Prime Minister Safadi highlighted the importance of partnership between Jordan and Japan, and appreciated support from Japan in various fields, including economic reforms.
  3. They discussed bilateral cooperation and various issues in the Middle East including the situation in Gaza concurred that the two countries would continue to work together.
