On September 4, commencing at 11:01 a.m. local time (5:01 p.m. JST) for about 20 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, during his visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Dr. Bisher Hani Al-Khasawneh, Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Minister Hayashi, confirming the progress of the bilateral relationship after the visit of the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Japan in April, stated that he would like to work closely with Prime Minister Khasawneh on how the two countries can develop relationships moving forward.
In response, Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh referred to the steadily growing bilateral relationship across a range of areas based on the strategic partnership, and expressed his willingness to continue to work with Japan for further developing bilateral relations, in view of next year marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Jordan. - The two sides concurred on working closely together in economics, security, and assistance for refugees, with a view to enhancing the bilateral strategic partnership.
They also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East.
